Reviewed October 2025Declassified in this vintage due to it being lower alcohol than the appellation requires, the 2024 Aurora is a bright straw color and is fresh and savory with white flowers, lemon rind, lime leaf, pineapple rind, and chalky earth. A blend of 90% Caricante and 10% Minella, the vinification is direct press, using a Champagne press and aged in stainless steel. It’s fantastic on the palate, with great balance, and it’s linear, pure, and lively, with salted lime, a refined texture, and a balance of saltiness and fruit. Drink 2025-2035. (AF)

The 2024 Bianco Aurora is wonderfully perfumed and lively in character, with a cascade of wildflowers, sweet spices and nuances of chamomile. It opens with a pretty inner sweetness as tension builds through florals and hints of sour citrus. This tapers off pleasantly chewy and long with a lemony concentration that lingers. In 2024, Aurora was labeled Vino Bianco instead of Etna Bianco as its alcohol only reached 11.5%. (EG)

The 2024 I Vigneri "Aurora" Etna Bianco is a crystalline, low-alcohol white from the volcano's eastern slopes. The nose is delicate and floral, offering white peach, lemon zest, and chamomile with a hint of beeswax. On the palate, it is light and "pure," balancing a smooth texture with racy, saline acidity and a distinct flinty minerality. Crafted by Salvo Foti using traditional methods and bottled by the moon, it is an elegant, high-vibration expression of Carricante.
