Multilayered yet overt and generous, showing dried violets, potpourri, licorice, cherry pits and pomegranate. Full-bodied and almost salty, with firm, dusty tannins, crisp acidity and a tight yet balanced finish due to great fruit concentration. Warming yet harmonious. October 2026 release. Even in this warm, dry year, the 2022 Barolo Arione offers tons of the mineral and savory intensity that is such a signature of this site. Sage, dried herbs, graphite, menthol, licorice and white pepper complement a core of deeply layered, dark Serralunga fruit. The rich mid-palate and sustained finish suggest a very bright future. (AG)
