Another just absolutely dreamy Riesling, but once more I feel like I'm having this way way too young, there's just so much depth there I want to know what this is like when it's fully integrated and just in a perfect place. That being said, I'm super glad I got to taste it, it has some of that white tea but with just so much fruit on the nose, and it really kind of smells noticeably sweet, the palate is quite sweet at first but as you sip more and the acidity comes more into place it feels a lot drier. This is another wine to be had with some cheese or spicy food or just something magical, because this itself is already so deep and incredibly tasty. I kind of want to have this with a really sharp cheddar mac & cheese. I might do that. Ask me how it went.

The 2024 Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese, as it is referred to on the front label (and with a golden capsule), was made with fully botrytized fruit harvested on over 100-year-old un-grafted vines in all the parcels at 100° Oechsle and was fermented and aged in stainless-steel tank down to sweet levels of residual sugar (78 g/l). It offers a splendidly complex and refined nose, which despite the underlying richness clearly shows elegant notes of candied lemon and grapefruit, tangerine, orange blossom, herbal tea, mint, fine acacia honey, William pear, a hint of passion fruit, and thyme. The wine shows more richness on the palate, as some exotic fruits, melon, and pear come through, yet it remains well wrapped in a blanket of candied citrusy elements, which give an airy side to the whole. The finish is super long, fresh, and airy.
