Dark fruited, perfumed and spicy, with underlying aromas of violets, rose petals, river stones and earth. The palate is taut and minerally with fine tannins and a mouthwatering, mineral-edged finish. The balance of power and refinement, together with a lovely perfumed lift, makes this enjoyable now while offering good aging potential. Very delicious. Drink or hold.

Vinous
The 2023 Pinot Noir Ygnacia Hyde Vineyard is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted at Hyde de Villaine. Deep in color, with commensurate overall richness, the 2023 exudes textural density from start to finish. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, and spice notes soar from the glass. The purity of the fruit is just tremendous, while a touch of stems (10% stems) is barely evident. Ygnacia is sourced from a block Larry Hyde planted in 2010. The wine is equal parts Calera Clone and a handful of massale selections from Ted Lemon at Littorai. What a wine.
