A clear deep ruby purple. There is an impressive quantity of pure refined deep raspberry fruit with a touch of graphite and the traditional blueberry from this site. The fruit is beautifully judged and it follows smoothly across the palate, with fine-grained tannins and adequate acidity. Drink from 2033-2045. Tasted Nov 2024.

The 2023 Dujac Clos de la Roche is beautifully red fruity in personality this year. The wine’s aromatic constellation is utterly refined, offering up notes of red plums, red and black cherries, gamebird, raw cocoa, a very complex foundation of soil tones, woodsmoke, mustard seed and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and shows off stunning depth of fruit at the core, with fine soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins and impeccable balance on the very long, extremely promising finish. Graphite, blood orange, black cherries and vanilla bean offer a generous nose. The palate is unusually soft, welcoming and fleshy—a reflection of the vintage, but it's wrapped in feisty tannins that don't worry Jeremy at this stage. There is a wholesomeness that does suggest this will come into its own in due time.
