Review Date: 01/2026The 2023 Mâcon-Pierreclos Le Chavigne is excellent, offering up aromas of pear, waxy citrus rind and white flowers, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, satiny and layered palate that's suave, racy and expressive. This cuvée sometimes gets lost in the shadow of the "Tri," to say nothing of "Juliette et les Vieilles," but it is a superb wine in its own right.(WK)

This is aromatically similar to the Bourgogne but with just a bit more wood in evidence. On the palate there is better richness and volume to the solidly concentrated middle weight flavors that also display good power on the long finish where the only reproach is again noticeable warmth.

The 2023 Mâcon-Pierreclos Le Chavigne takes a few swirls of the glass to open, revealing a well-defined nose with light tropical notes of passion fruit and nectarine. The palate is well balanced with just a patina of oak to be subsumed, though there is ample weight to soak that up. Quite effervescent in style, this will be tempting young.(NM)
