This small slice of vines was planted in 1956 on the Santenay side of the climat. Céline always ages this longer due to its old vine concentration. Lighter on its feet than usual this year, there is still all of the sleek fruit and lovely crushed stone minerality at the core. Vibrant citrus, fresh herbs and yellow currants flush through the medium, noble finish, this has a noble finish.

Note: from La Grande Borne. This is also a bit reduced though considerably less so. There is more size, weight and power to the bigger-bodied flavors that coat the palate with dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm acid spine supporting the balanced finale. This is not especially refined but I like the character and let's be honest, one doesn't buy Morgeot for its finesse.*Burghound Outstanding!*

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Grand Borne lieu-dit: In the extreme south, on the limit with Santenay – below Clos Pitois – a large Murger in this plot, then Cardeuse follows. ‘Our Morgeot is normally a little more austere to start with.’ A direct freshness, again with small complexities of citrus skin. Scale, some, but less, generosity. Larger in the mouth, with a small textural grain of tannin here. Strong and wide finishing – really long – this could be an excellent wine…"(01/2026)
