2023 Antoine Sunier Régnié
90
Vinous
Review Date: 04/2025The 2023 Régnié comes from 50-year-old vines on deep granite soils. It aged half in tanks and half in barrels for eight months. This is nicely focused on the nose, with touches of mint infusing the dark plummy fruit tones. The palate is medium-bodied with hints of sapid red berry fruit, pain d'épices and gentle grip on the Morgon-like finish. It's just a little confit-like in style. I feel that the 2023 has something up its sleeve, so don't be afraid to grant this bottle age.(NM)

Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "All the old vines in front of the domaine from 3ha – more like 50 years old – a little longer maceration 8-10 days. Half tank elevage and half old (8-10-year-old) 228-l barrels. Bottled in June after 8 months of elevage. A larger nose – good energy. More freshness and energetic volume – this is lovely – it’s detailed and very pretty. The finish vibrates with energy. That’s a delicious wine – yum!"(10/2024)
