The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Village is a blend of owned and exchanged fruit. This has another bright and quite minty bouquet that soars from the glass. Plenty of energy. The palate is fresh and vibrant, fine weight, quite tensile with plenty of mineralité on the finish. Classically styled Puligny that will give a lot of pleasure.(NM)

To my palate, the Puligny villages bottling is customarily just a half step ahead of the Chassagne villages bottling at Domaine Chartron, but not in 2024, as the Caillerets young vines have given the AC bottling from that commune equal gravitas with this fine Puligny AC. But, that is not to say that the 2024 Puligny villages here is not also excellent this year, as it offers up a bright and classic aromatic constellation of apple, white peach, a touch of pear, chalky soil tones, white lilies and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and elegant in profile, with a juicy core of fruit, lovely soil signature, zesty acids and lovely balance on the long, complex and refined finish. Fine juice. 2026-2050.

A fresh green tint. More energy than the Chassagne, albeit still with austerity. Now, a greater volume of high-class fruit develops. Some fleshier plum fruit on top of the structural framework. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Oct 2025.

Notes

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Not a lot of domaine villages here but it’s only villages in this! Good scale – and lovely mineral clarity again. A strong core of flavour, slowly opening and melting – the finish is absorbing and melting over the palate. A great finish for a villages wine – in fact it’s quite complete – bravo !!"(11/2025)
