James Suckling
Reviewed November 2025A typical Bourgogne chardonnay with satisfying harmony of restrained creaminess and citrusy freshness on the well-rounded palate. Clean finish with some length and just a touch of toasty character at the end. Drink or hold.

This is also quite cool and airy with its nose of petrol, apple and lemon zest. There is excellent vibrancy to the delicious and well-detailed flavors that are finer if not quite as dense, all wrapped in a lightly austere and stony finale where a touch of bitter citrus rind slowly emerges. To enjoy young.

Jean-Michel Chartron’s 2024 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc is also quite refined on the nose this year, offering up scents of lime, sweet grapefruit, chalky soil tones, spring flowers and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and zesty, with a lovely core of fruit, good soil undertow, a fine spine of acidity and a long, balanced and nicely precise finish. Good juice. 2026-2035.

Prettily perfumed, with some baked apple behind. Fresher apple on the palate, good acidity, a leaner style though still with some flesh, good length. Note, this wine can also be labelled Bourgogne Côte d'Or or Cuvée Eugenie Dupard, depending on the market. Drink from 2026-2028. Tasted Oct 2025.
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "From hillsides in Nantoux A lovely width of freshness, but just a hint more generosity. In the mouth too – but so energetic and more slaine too. Slowly fading – I can’t really say that this is a lesser wine than the last – just a hint more richness to the flavours!!"(11/2025)
