The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Maltroie 1er Cru (Rouge) comes from a single parcel. This leans more towards red fruit on the nose than the Village Cru, with wild strawberry and raspberry fruit, wilted rose petals and a delicate touch of potpourri. Good delineation. The palate is well balanced, with fine grip on the entry, more sapidity than the Village with a tingle of white pepper on the aftertaste. Very fine, quite old school in some ways but it should age well in bottle.(NM)
