The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Maltroie 1er Cru has a very aromatic and quite floral bouquet, with enticing scents of yellow flower mixed with wild peach and just a hint of acacia in the background. The palate is well balanced with a pleasing texture, a little pithiness coming through, a dash of ginger complementing the dried apricot and orange pith notes. Fine weight on the finish, with more persistence than the Village cru, this should give up to 15 years' drinking pleasure.(NM)

Pale lemon, a little tension on the nose, some waxed and candied citrus, a little biscuit once again, medium weight, with attractive length. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Oct 2025.

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Largest parcel of the domaine with almost 1 hectare of 3 different vine ages, plus some pinot. Took out half of the young (2012) vines in 2020 as there was a problem with the 161-49 root-stock. There’s still no real solution, certainly with so many consecutive hot vintages and vines planted in drier places. A more airy freshness over more limestone seriousness, with a fizz of stony reduction. Silky, supple – more classy texture too. There are layers to this flavour(s) and another that grows and grows to fill the finish. A great finish, clearly showcasing the limestone – like a Caillerets."(11/2025)
