Pierre Ferrand stands among the premier houses of Cognac, with a lineage that stretches back ten generations in the heart of Grande Champagne. Starting with the first Elie Ferrand in 1630, the family has remained singularly focused on producing Cognac exclusively from grapes grown in Grande Champagne, rather than blending in eaux-de-vie from other crus, as many houses do. Spanning ages from nine to twenty years and bottled between 101.2 and a staggering 136.6 proof, these are true rarities. Vintaged, single-cask, single-varietal, unblended, and bottled at cask strength, Cognacs like these are almost never seen. We were lucky enough to secure four of them, and we made sure to get every last drop.
