Review Date: 03/2026The 2024 Chaignots chez Chevillon is quite black fruity in personality this year and also beautifully sappy. The wine’s aromatic constellation reveals a lovely blend of plums, sweet dark berries, woodsmoke, a fine base of soil, pigeon, vanillin oak and a pungent topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy, with a great core of fruit, fine soil signature,tangy acids and a very long, ripely tannic and seamlessly balanced finish. Fine juice. 2037-2085.

Medium deep ruby, a touch vegetal on the nose, with dark black and red fruit on the palate, a little Vosne side elegance, fine tannins and excellent length. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Nov 2025.

Note: from a 1.5 ha parcel that blends 40+ and 60+ year old vines. An even more discreet application of wood lurks in the background of the much spicier nose of elegant purple fruit and more subtle earth influence. The attractively textured, refined and highly energetic middle weight flavors retain good delineation that also characterizes the lingering, balanced and lightly austere finale.
