The 2024 Vaucrains from Monsieur Chevillon shares the beautiful sappiness and purity of fruit as all the other wines in the cellar here in this vintage, but it is quite a bit more black fruity out of the blocks than most of its brethren. The wine’s aromatic constellation offers up scents of cassis, black cherries, nutskin, venison, a complex foundation of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy, with great soil signature and grip, ripe, firm tannins and a very, very long, complex and perfectly balanced finish. The inherent power of Vaucrains is beautifully synthesized into the elegance of the vintage here. This is going to be a very special wine. 2039-2100.
