Review Date: 03/2026Domaine Chevillon’s 2024 Nuits “Vieilles Vignes” is going to be an absolutely stellar villages level bottling this year. The bouquet is deep, pure and beautifully sappy in profile, hopping from the glass in a mix of black cherries, sweet dark berries, a gorgeous base of soil, gamebird, dark chocolate and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, precise and very deep at the core, with great purity of fruit, superb soil undertow and grip, fine-grained tannins and a long, impeccably balanced and nascently complex finish. This is going to be excellent villages. 2034-2080.

Note: this cuvée is mostly from La Charmotte and Au Chouillet, with bits and pieces from Aux Saints Jacques, Les Charmois, Les Maladières, Les Chaliots and Les Brûlées plus a few others too small to mention. A discreet application of wood frames the more deeply pitched aromas of plum, red cherry and more prominent earth influence. There is again good underlying tension and detail to the more voluminous, though still not particularly dense, flavors that conclude in a complex bitter pit fruit-inflected finale. This well-balanced effort could easily be enjoyed on the younger side if you don't wish to wait.*Burghound Outstanding!*

Full mid purple, dense plums on the nose, reasonably classic and escaping from the heat of recent years. Quite ripe dark fruit on the palate, a touch softer at the back, medium to light tannins, a suggestion of coffee. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Nov 2025.

The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Villages clearly offers more fruit concentration than the regional red with ebullient raspberry and crushed strawberry scents. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict tannins that frame the dark berry and graphite-tinged fruit. Well balanced with decent length, this comes recommended.(NM)
