2010 Mira "Hyde Vineyard" Napa Valley Syrah (Winery Direct Library)

The 2010 Hyde Syrah is a complex and thought-provoking wine that clearly reflects the dramatic growing season of 2010. A year that began historically cool, only to heat up as harvest approached, produced some seriously structured, concentrated, and powerful wines. This wine is no exception. Dark, rich black fruit and smoldering scorched earth are balanced by toasted spices, hints of peppered steak, and campfire coals. A robust wine with charred spices and meaty elements underscoring the muscular dark fruit. It has aged very well and is now showing lovely development of character from its 15 years in bottle. What a treat—especially at this ludicrous price. Enjoy.
