Three barrels, riches! A medium deep ruby purple. This has the richer, lusher approach of Malconsorts, with dark raspberry and fresh plum fruit making up a considerable volume of fruit which extends very well across the whole palate. A lovely aftertaste of summer pudding fruit. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.

There is a lovely cool-warm exchange here between the pixelated, tugging tannins matched with racy acidity and the sweeping, gloriously ripe berry fruits. This miniscule, 14 ares parcel sits upslope, which helps deliver extra freshness. This is bottled exclusively in magnums, so one will need to be very patient.

Note: from a .5 ha parcel. A strikingly perfumed nose somewhat grudgingly reveals its range of various red berries, floral wisps, anise, clove and jasmine tea. The super-sleek, if not super-dense, middle weight flavors brim with minerality on the powerful, compact and bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that goes and on. This is also very clearly built-to-age but it's not so backward that it couldn't be reasonably approached after only 7 to 8 years, assuming that it's not all bottled in magnum as is sometimes the case. I say this because at the time of my November visit, Van Canneyt wasn't yet sure how it will be bottled.*Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*
