Notes
The 2021 Plozza Inferno is an elegant and distinct expression of the warmest subzone of Valtellina, where steep rocky terraces reflect intense heat. The nose is inviting and "leafy," offering a fragrance of red currants, wild strawberries, and dried roses underscored by notes of melted chocolate and rosemary. On the palate, it is light-to-medium bodied and tense, balancing a bright acidity with firm but silky tannins and a savory core of licorice and Alpine herbs. The finish is long and chewy, showing a classic mountain-Nebbiolo grip. A sophisticated and "dark-souled" red that is drinkable now but will continue to evolve through 2033.
