Salted peach and dried pear aromas meet with hints of buttered toast on the nose of this bottling from a historic vineyard. There's a sharp lime-peel and steel edge to the palate, which cuts through the ample peach and pineapple flavors, with wet stone popping up on the finish. (MK)

Buttered orchard fruits, toasted bread, spice, and some white flower notes all emerge from the 2019 Chardonnay, a juicy, medium-bodied, classic Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay offering good acidity as well as balancing richness. Coming from a mix of the La Rinconada, La Encantada, Sanford & Benedict, and Donnachadah vineyards, it saw full malolactic fermentation and spent 10 months in 60% new barrels. An outstanding wine, it should evolve for 7-8 years, although there’s no need to delay gratification.
