The 2024 Fiano Trentenare blossoms in the glass, where wild herbs mix with grapefruit and lime to form a uniquely inviting bouquet. A burst of candied lime contrasts with sour melon as a wave of juicy acidity adds a sensation of unbridled energy. Clean and crisp, yet displaying lovely length, it finishes with a citrus tinge and nuances of sage. (EG)

Lemon rind, chopped apple and pear on the nose. It’s bright and refreshing with medium body and a straightforward, lightly saline finish. Drink now.

Opening to a shiny and luminous appearance, the San Salvatore 1988 2024 Fiano Trentenare is loaded with fresh pear, peach and melon. This pretty wine proves easy to drink and would wash down nicely with fried sardines or calamari rings. There is good freshness and a hint of peachy sweetness to close. Winemaking is in stainless steel only. (ML)

Notes

The 2024 "Trentenare" is a vibrant and "Mediterranean" expression of Fiano, grown in the coastal vineyards of Cilento near the ancient Greek ruins of Paestum. Named after the local village of Trentinara, this wine is crafted by the San Salvatore 1988 estate using organic farming and sustainable practices. The nose is bright and exceptionally fragrant, offering a bouquet of white peach, pineapple, and green apple layered with delicate notes of jasmine, broom, and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and refreshing, balancing a pulpy fruit core with a striking saline minerality and a crisp, vertical acidity. The finish is long and energetic, marked by a clean citrus lift and a savory, "maritime" persistence. Fermented and aged for 6–8 months in stainless steel on its fine lees, it maintains a beautiful primary purity that makes it a perfect companion for buffalo mozzarella, seafood crudité, or light pasta dishes.
