Reviewed July 2024Grenache noir 70%, Syrah 30%. Liqourice, wild herbs and bright cherry fruit on the nose leading to a ripe but beautifully focused palate. Textural and refined with sweet cherry and berry fruits, offering pleasure and elegance.

The 2022 Gigondas has a narrow lead over the 2021. Vinified from fully-destemmed Grenache and Syrah grapes, it opens with red and black cherry, red plum, cranberry and licorice. A splash of menthol adds a welcome contrast. Grippy tannins require a few more years to soften. Overall, this is a juicy and concentrated 2022 red with notable complexity.

Notes
The Mas des Restanques domaine was founded in 1995 with the union of our two family-owned estates. In the heart of Provence and at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the estate is spread over 12 hectares between two Vacqueyras and Gigondas. The Gigondas is a blend of Grenache and Syrah.
