The pale ruby-colored 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is laced with white pepper, ripe strawberry, dried herbs and a flicker of orange blossom. Full-bodied, concentrated and utterly refreshing, the 2023 is an open-knit, classic Charvin that’s going to provide abundant pleasure from early on. That said, I recommend giving it at least two more years in a cool cellar to fully come together. This concludes with freshness and refinement on the smooth exit. (NG)
