Very cool and restrained for an Auslese, with a filigreed personality on the medium-bodied palate, plus a wealth of lychee and mangosteen flavors. Frankly off-dry, but with wonderful elegance and precision that make this even more seductive. Vegan. Drink or hold.

The 2024 Riesling Thörnicher Ritsch Auslese was made with around 40% botrytis-affected fruit that is not shriveled yet. A slight reduction mixes with passion fruit on the nose. The palate is exquisitely pure and full of peachiness. It is rounded and smooth, but on light feet, with beautiful stone fruit pervaded by the smoothest, most lemony freshness. The 2024 is absolutely elegant. (Sweet)

Rambunctious on the nose, this stunning Riesling features apple jelly, durian and cut chive aromas, with a palate that brings a ton of ripe, high-fidelity flavors of tinned peach, pear, oolong and celery root. Though dense and powerful, this maintains real energy, using lime, grapefruit pith and dill to move through the long, graceful finish. Drink now through 2036.—K.B.

The 2024 Ritsch Riesling Auslese, as it is referred to on the front label, was made from 20%-botrytized grapes picked at 92° Oechsle and was fermented and matured in Fuder down to sweet levels of residual sugar (74 g/l). It offers a creamy nose made of melon, a hint of cream, pear, herbs, and smoke and underlines this suave side on the rich and delicately honeyed yet mineral palate.
