The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village has quite a potent nose of incense and crushed violets that bursts from the glass. Cohesive and poised, this has a medium-bodied palate, pliant tannins and abundant fleshy red fruit on the finish. This is the most promising of the Domaine's Village Crus at the moment.(NM)

Note: from 3 different parcels in Aux Réas, La Colombière and Au-Dessus de la Rivière. Here the spicy and floral-suffused nose derives more from the dark side of the fruit spectrum. There is both more volume and richness to the succulent, round and supple medium weight flavors that also come up a bit short as the dusty finish is borderline drying. The tannins do seem ripe so again, it's hard to predict if this will better harmonize in time.
