Reviewed January 2025All destemmed fruit, not yet in bottle, aged with 25% new wood. Lovely perfume with good oak. Up front, pure and delicious, then a slight firmness from the wood to finish. But the sweet cherry and raspberry fruit is impeccable and very long. 13.5% alcohol. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Mar 2025.

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village has quite a potent nose of incense and crushed violets that bursts from the glass. Cohesive and poised, this has a medium-bodied palate, pliant tannins and abundant fleshy red fruit on the finish. This is the most promising of the Domaine's Village Crus at the moment.(NM)

Note: from 3 different parcels in Aux Réas, La Colombière and Au-Dessus de la Rivière. Here the spicy and floral-suffused nose derives more from the dark side of the fruit spectrum. There is both more volume and richness to the succulent, round and supple medium weight flavors that also come up a bit short as the dusty finish is borderline drying. The tannins do seem ripe so again, it's hard to predict if this will better harmonize in time.
