2019 Eric Kent "1KM West" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (1.5L)
Notes
Eric Kent is a small, Sonoma-based winery known for crafting delicious, small production wines. The 1KM West bottling is the winery's more focused, more vibrant, and refreshing take on Chardonnay. Fruit for the 2019 is from two top-quality vineyards with great pedigree. 75% of the wine comes from Fallen Leaf Vineyard on the hillside high above the town of Sonoma close to Hanzell Vineyard. The site is a small 8-acre planting of 30+ year old Wente Clone. This fruit is complimented by 25% Hyde Selection Chardonnay from the famed Sangiacomo Green Acres Vineyard in Carneros. The wine is fermented with native yeats in neutral 500L Puncheons. The inspiration here is a bright, mineral driven wine more akin to white burgundy rather than the sterotypical big, butterey California Chardonnay. A fantastic wine at price that's too low to show (unless you signed up for the Insider's Advantage mailing list that is)! Hint: It's less than half the regular retail price!
