From the historic house of Borgogno, the 2023 ‘Derthona’ Timorasso is a magnificent, structural white, showcasing the incredible potential of this indigenous grape. The nose is wonderfully intense and complex, with notes of dried apricot, yellow apple, and honeysuckle, layered with hints of hay, flint, and a touch of savory spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and richly textured, with a dense, viscous core that is perfectly cut by a vibrant, high acidity and a strong mineral tension. The finish is exceptionally long, savory, and resonant, echoing with saline and crushed stone. A serious, age-worthy white built for the cellar.
