On the nose, dense, sophisticated fruit aromas of raspberry jam, pomegranate and figs are balanced by incisive, savory pepper and hot tar. The palate stays balanced, with strawberries, blood orange and more raspberries gliding over damp earth as gorgeously refined tannins create a silken texture, before making way for a dark chocolate finish. The 2023 Tre is a tasty entry-level offering. Pliant and aromatic, with fine balance, the 2023 is hard to resist right out of the gate. Sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, mint, spice, tobacco, and incense all take shape in the glass. Soft tannins wrap it all together in style. (AG)
