The beguiling 2020 Rio Sordo is one of the best wines I've ever tried from Musso and is an excellent expression of this famed vineyard site and what has turned out to be a great vintage for the estate. It opens with heady scents recalling pressed rose, new leather, forest floor and pipe tobacco while the full-bodied, structured palate delivers ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, licorice and crushed mint. Firm, refined tannins and fresh acidity keep it balanced and lend an age-worthy structure. (KO)
