This is peppery with red cherries and some underbrush. A tight, medium- to full-bodied red with lots going on. Juicy but not overwhelmingly so, with supple tannins and lovely tension. A blend of tinta pinheira, alfrocheiro, jaen, baga and touriga national. The wine ferments spontaneously in a tank and ages for 12 months in used French oak barrels. (JGL)
