Tasted from a tank just before bottling, so treated as a final sample, Selvanevada is a deeply coloured assemblage of Tempranillo with 13% Graciano and 3% each of Mazuelo and Garnacha. Sappy, fresh and stony, it has some chalky minerality, supple tannins and layers of plum, bramble and wild strawberry flavours.

The 2022 Tinto Selvanevada comes from Laserna. This offers red and black fruit notes and a cool herbal dimension that sharpens the aromas. Fine-grained tannins and good tension support a juicy core, leading into a full, expressive finish with a touch of camphor. The 2022 is well balanced and clearly defined. (JH)

This fluid red offers a pleasingly plump core of chopped black plum and raspberry flavors reined in by a sinewy frame of fine-grained tannins.
