Caymus Vineyards was founded in 1972 by Charlie and Lorna Wagner alongside their son Chuck, building on the family’s farming roots in Rutherford. From the start, their focus was Cabernet Sauvignon, and Caymus quickly became synonymous with the Napa Valley. The winery’s flagship, Caymus Special Selection, remains the only wine to win Wine Spectator’s “Wine of the Year” twice, a testament to its consistent excellence. Grapes are sourced from eight of Napa’s sixteen sub-appellations, allowing for a blend that captures the valley’s diversity while maintaining a signature style—dark color, ripe tannins, and plush fruit. Today, Chuck Wagner and his children continue the tradition.
