The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne 1er Cru has an enticing bouquet with hints of chamomile infusing green apple scents and touches of flint that emerge with time. The palate is clean and precise with subtle tropical notes of nectarine and peach, alongside a keen thread of acidity and a finish that just needs a little more mineralité. Still, this is well-crafted and should age well in bottle.(NM)

Mid lemon yellow, also sulphured. There is a slightly more robust, less fine-boned fruit here. Adequate tension behind a yellower plum fruit, not quite the length or finesse of my favourites here this year. Picked 6th September. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted Nov 2024.
