A linear and focused, medium-bodied wine with lovely aromas of basil, mint, honeysuckle, citrus blossoms and chalk. A minerally core is surrounded by sumptuous flavors of pears, lemons and limes and tense energy. A delicate white floral note in the finish. Drink or hold.

Fresh, structured, and plush on the palate, the 2024 Chardonnay is sourced from Ferrington Vineyard, a fresh and very giving wine. A small percentage is barrel-fermented in new oak, which adds impressive length and texture to the crunch of pear and toasty spice. (VB)

Showing that they are every bit as skilled with Chardonnay as they are with Pinot Noir, Matt and Alexis bottle this wine simply as Anderson Valley, even though it comes entirely from a single renowned vineyard: Ferrington. You may recognize the Ferrington name from iconic producers such as Williams Selyem, which have long sourced fruit from this mature Anderson Valley site. The wine offers beautifully crystalline golden orchard fruit, ripe citrus, spiced apple pie, salted almond, and stone-ground flour. The balance between fruit and minerality is spot-on, with generous ripeness matched by wonderful tension and verve. This is a seriously sophisticated Chardonnay at a remarkably reasonable price. Awesome stuff!

This orchard fruited little beauty is quite the bargain. It has a really beautiful combo of white pear pulp and key lime fruit all wrapped up in a mouthfeel that starts out with moderate richness and quickly cleans up and leaves a nice lingering bit of acidity on the palate during the finish. The oak is clean and fresh and never takes away or overwhelms the delicious fruit and citrus aspects of this release.

Notes

Sourced entirely from the famed Ferrington Vineyard in Anderson Valley.
