The 2023 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is a delight. Crushed flowers, ripe red cherry fruit, spice, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco are all nicely laced together. This mid-weight Serre Nuove is notable for its forward fruit, mid-weight structure and overall appeal. Floral top notes extend the effortless, silky finish. (AG)

As the superb second wine of Ornellaia, the 2023 “Le Serre Nuove” is a wonderfully elegant and polished expression of Bolgheri, carrying the pedigree of one of Tuscany’s greatest estates. The nose is bright and expressive, with notes of ripe black cherry, cassis, and plum, layered with hints of mint, cedar, and subtle sweet spice. On the palate, it’s medium-to-full-bodied and seamless, with a core of juicy dark fruit framed by refined, velvety tannins and a fresh, balancing acidity. The finish is long and harmonious, echoing with notes of chocolate and savory herbs. A remarkably elegant and age-worthy blend that offers earlier accessibility than the Grand Vin.
