This might have been the most unexpected thing at the tasting this morning. I know I like Scotch, that wasn't a surprise, but this was just a particularly nice barrel and I feel bad for missing it when it first came in. Even though this is higher proof, it carries the proof really well and there's just this absolute burst of pecan pie and maple candy twining with some dried apricots that just really makes this so fantastic, the finish is just delicious for miles and it lasts just as long. The nose is nice and pretty, orchard fruit and honey with the grain behind it, and then the palate is oily and spicy, very malt forward and then when the finish kicks in oh gosh, that's the stuff right there. It's just phenomenal and at a super reasonable price. Definitely top tier.
