Reviewed January 2022I loved the 2019 Vacqueyras Garrigues, and it’s one of my favorite vintages for this cuvée. Based on 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah brought up in tank, it offers earth red and blue fruits as well as beautiful truffly earth, underbrush, and pepper notes. Medium to full-bodied, lively, and balanced, it’s going to cruise for 10-12 years in the cellar.

The 2019 Vacqueyras Garrigues is spicy and herbal. A refreshing leafy streak complements hints of mushroom, dried herbs, licorice and ripe red fruits. Biodynamically certified Grenache and Syrah grapes from over 70-year-old vines provide this elegant 2019 red with character and concentration. Elegance and freshness are front and center in this delicious Vacqueyras, which contains a comparatively moderate 13.9% alcohol. (NG)
