Really dark and inviting nose, kind of like sticking my nose into this seductively swirling dark mire of fruit with a little bit of floral notes at the edges. Dark and seedy blackberry compote melds with black cherry reduction, with a little bit of raspberries added in towards the end to brighten things up just a touch. The palate is rich and dense, with cocoa and coffee mingling with the blackberries and cherries. This is such an attractive and drinkable Malbec, something that I would probably have with dinner because there's a firm little grip of tannins but something I could easily see just popping the cork on if someone wanted a glass of a bigger and darker red wine. What really gets me about this is how much wine you're getting for the price, this is just $15 and drinks as well as something at twice the price, it's probably one of the better deals on a wine this price that I've seen for a while. Absolutely recommended for the holidays and beyond, this is a great uninvited guest/midweek bottle.
