Really cool and stony for the very warm vintage, this is a great expression of Corton with bright red berry fruit and a touch of blood oranges but all the structure we expect from this amazing site. The straight, long finish has a radical minerality that makes this extremely exciting. From organically grown grapes. Matured in a half-and-half mix of new oak barriques and once-used casks. Drink or hold.

Singing with red fruit intensity, this starts with red currants, lingonberries and cherries along with tangy rhubarb and vanilla bean. Punctuated by raspy acidity and finessed tannins, this gently drifts into a long, distinguished finish. Technically part of Corton Rognet, this monopole has been owned by the family since 1874 and their name was attached to the wine in the 1930s.

Well-marked by toasty new oak, this red is silky, complex and beautifully balanced. Cherry, strawberry, currant, sandalwood, iron and sweet spice aromas and flavors permeate the elegant profile, while the long, detailed aftertaste reveals its pedigree. Offers plenty of structure. Best from 2029 through 2048.

The 2023 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons Faiveley is excellent, offering up aromas of dark berries, orange zest, spices and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, tautly fleshy palate that's lively and mineral, with refined structuring tannins and a long, penetrating finish. Jérôme Flous and his team can't seem to put a foot wrong at Faiveley; and given the high level of vineyard management and skill and precision brought to bear in the winery and the cellar, I think it's fair to say this is one of the finest larger domaine and négociant operations in Burgundy in terms of both quality and consistency. The 2023 vintage has delivered a crop of supple, sensual reds and fleshy but precise whites that will offer broad drinking windows.(WK)
