You can smell the coolness here between the crushed chalk, marine breezes, mint, wild strawberry and crunchy raspberries. The tannins are refined, the oak is subtle and the acidity is flirty. Bramble and crushed flint scent the stunningly long finish. There are several plantation dates, but most vines are about 40 years old, and all of them sit directly in the heart of the cru.

Insiders know how good this cuvée is chez Faiveley, and the 2023 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is another excellent rendition, offering up aromas of sweet wild berries, rose petals, orange zest and vine smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but ethereal palate that's refined, precise and mineral. Jérôme Flous and his team can't seem to put a foot wrong at Faiveley; and given the high level of vineyard management and skill and precision brought to bear in the winery and the cellar, I think it's fair to say this is one of the finest larger domaine and négociant operations in Burgundy in terms of both quality and consistency. The 2023 vintage has delivered a crop of supple, sensual reds and fleshy but precise whites that will offer broad drinking windows.(WK)

A superb example of the appellation – firm and tannic, a bit more reserved than the Clos de Bèze perhaps, but with an earthy, smoky charm of its own, and abundant ripe plum and black cherry fruit aromas. The texture is dense and substantial, but the wine avoids heaviness to exhibit traditional charm. Give this wine five to seven years to open up, and drink it over the next three decades.(CC)

There’s a compelling display of fruit as this red leads off, featuring cherry, raspberry, currant, rose and mineral flavors. The dense structure catches up midpalate and leaves a solid grip on the finish. Overall, this is balanced, with a detailed aftertaste that unfolds with fruit, mineral and toasty oak elements. Best from 2029 through 2045.
