50% whole bunch. One plot with concentrated small berries and one very old vines, mean that whole bunches work well here on a heavier clay soil. Almost a black centre with a purple rim. This is very generous but not too sunny, a wealth of black cherry and raspberry fruit, velvet texture which is very rare in Maranges and a long finish. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted Nov 2024.

Note: from a massive holding of 4.5 ha in pinot plus another 1.5 ha planted to chardonnay. Here the nose is at once more elegant and more floral with pretty spice nuances adding breadth to the ripe red berry scents. The succulent, round and equally seductive medium weight flavors possess a generous mouthfeel before concluding in a firm, lightly austere and stony finale that is markedly firmer. Lovely and understated in style.
