Auchroisk is a quintessential Speyside "workhorse" distillery, originally built in the 1970s specifically to provide high-quality malt for the J&B blend. Because almost all of its production is destined for blending, official single malt bottlings are incredibly rare, making it a favorite target for independent bottlers like Old Malt Cask. The distillery is known for its unique "lantern-shaped" stills and horizontal condensers, which produce a spirit that is remarkably nutty, cereal-forward, and surprisingly light.
