Paler in colour with first class fresh white mineral fruit, slightly saline but not iodine, A little touch of liquorice, the fruit swells through the middle of the palate before the exquisite clarity of the finish. Persistent of course. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted Jun 2024.

Derived from a prime southeast-facing communal lieu-dit, Eleni & Edouard Vocoret’s 2023 Chablis Les Pargues offers aromas of lemon zest and white flowers mingling with oyster shell. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tense and precise, uniting ripeness and raciness to great effect, concluding with a long, chalky finish. It’s a seriously structured wine that comes warmly recommended. Eleni and Edouard Vocoret are among the brightest young-generation winemakers in Chablis, bringing a fresh breeze to a subregion of Burgundy that has, until recently, lacked dynamism. Originally from Domaine Vocoret & Fils, Edouard Vocoret established his own winery in Chablis in 2012, together with his wife Eleni, after working for two years at his family estate, while Eleni honed her skills at Vincent Dauvissat and Domaine Oudin. Starting with five hectares, they now run an eight-hectare estate, which includes many prime parcels at both premier cru and grand cru levels. With the 2023 vintage, the domaine’s holdings have expanded, and almost overnight, this estate has become one of Chablis’s most important addresses. The Vocorets have selected parcels in the best climats from their family holdings, and the accompanying tasting notes illustrate the entire range, which now consists of 12 different cuvées.(KK)

The 2023 Chablis Les Pargues is raised entirely in used barrels. It has a well-defined bouquet with a little more mineralité than the Boucheran. Good energy here, though the 2022 might have a tad more intensity. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, fine weight, and very tensile. A touch of stem ginger appears toward the finish. Just a delicious Chablis.(NM)

Note: from a .41 ha holding. There is notably better typicity to the aromas of Granny Smith apples, lemon zest and iodine. The racy, delicious and detailed medium weight flavors possess slightly better concentration and more obvious minerality on the balanced, dry and more complex finale. One to consider as this is quite good.*Burghound Outstanding Top Value!*
