Bone dry and incredibly zesty, the 2024 Mohua Sauvignon Blanc is everything you want in a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It’s fresh, it’s fruit-forward, and it’s bursting with youthful exuberance. Classic green herbaceous undertones are woven throughout the wine, along with freshly squeezed lime and grapefruit juice, Granny Smith apple and a hint of passionfruit. Not overly cloying or over-the-top at all, this wine achieves a wonderful balance between an almost electric sense of acidity – the finish on this wine is almost mouthwatering – and pristine citrus and tropical fruit notes. With warmer days on the horizon, this is exactly the sort of wine you want to have stocked and ready to pop open at a moment’s notice. It would be perfect for outdoor get togethers, or as a pairing for salads, chilled seafood, or even just on its own. This is the type of wine that proves exactly why Marlborough is one of the leading regions for Sauvignon Blanc – it’s just that good, and for an incredible price, too.
Explosive and immediately expressive, this Sauvignon Blanc leaps from the glass with aromas of passionfruit, lime zest, grapefruit, and freshly cut herbs. The palate is vibrant and mouthwatering, driven by piercing acidity and intense citrus and tropical fruit flavors layered with classic Marlborough grassy lift. The texture is crisp and energetic, with a clean, refreshing finish that invites another sip. This is exactly why Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc became famous—bold, unmistakable, and endlessly drinkable. It’s the perfect bottle if you want maximum flavor, instant appeal, and a wine that overdelivers at its price point.

Notes

Owned and managed by two generations of the McLachlan family of Peregrine Wines, Mohua Wines was founded in 2009 to create exceptional wines from some of New Zealand’s highest quality regions. Mohua is named after the Mohua bird, which is one of New Zealand’s rarest birds. Found only in the most remote parts of the South Island’s pristine rainforests, the Mohua currently occupies less than 5% of its original territory. In partnership with the Department of Conservation (DOC), Mohua Wines provides financial support for protection initiatives, as well as assisting personally with relocation and sanctuary programs.
