Fermented and matured in oak and disgorged in April 2025 with a dosage of 2.5 grams per liter, the 2017 Blanc de Blancs Oger Les Belles Voyes delivers a deep bouquet of mandarin, dried flowers and mirabelle plum, mingled with Sichuan pepper and rosemary. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and concentrated, with a layered, rich core of fruit supported by ample chalky extract and mouthwatering acids, before concluding in a persistent, saline finish. Originating from a 0.8-hectare old-vine site in Oger, it is a strong performer. (KK)

A textured and expressive Champagne with nutty depth, bright acidity, and serious structure. Aged in barrique, it shows extra weight and complexity while staying energetic. The oak influence adds breadth and richness without taking away from the wine’s freshness.

Everything about Champagne Frank Bonville's vintage dated prestige cuvee is special. It's from the oldest plots (planted in the 1920s/1930s) of a single vineyard, "Les Belles Voyes," from a single Grand Cru village in the Cotes des Blancs, Oger, and is 100% Grand Cru chardonnay. "The Beautiful View" is a hilltop vineyard that overlooks the village of Oger (population 514) and, as you can imagine, it is stunning. The 2017 vintage was solar, but exceptional specifically for Chardonnay. It's vinified and aged in 228L barrels before bottling and the dosage is 2.5g/l, giving it a bone-dry finish that allows the fruit shine. On the nose and palate, orange zest, mocha, pastry crust, green apple, almond, toast, and a long honeyed, lemon, and chalky finish. A remarkable champagne of depth and character.

Single vineyard, single vintage champagne from one of my favorite champagne houses; this is one of the best champagne's I've ever had. On the palate, this wine is rich with incredible depth, with notes of lemon zest, apple, pear, brioche, and rosemary, with a creamy mid palate and bright acidity. Do not hesitate to buy.

Notes

This is one of the best Champagnes we carry, regardless of price. Made from the one-and-three-quarters-acre Belles Voyes vineyard in Oger, this is Bonville's top of the line Champagne. The vines were planted in the late '20s or early '30s and the vineyard is ideally located in the mid slope of this Grand Cru village. The wine is made entirely from the 2017 harvest and is all Chardonnay. Olivier Bonville ferments and ages the juice in old oak casks before bottling. The only wine I can compare it to is the Clos de Mesnil from Krug. It is the perfect Blanc de Blancs, rich and taut at once and any words that I use to describe it will not do it proper justice.
