Bright blackcurrants, smashed blackberries and blueberries in a fragrant style. Medium-bodied, this has an almost tart palate, firm and chalky tannins and a polished finish. Good length. Drink or hold.

Lagrein, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. I had not tasted this blend before, but now I am very intrigued. Aromas of kirsch, pomegranate, and hibiscus. On the palate, refreshing flavors of plums, ripe figs, black cherries, and dark chocolate. A light bodied, chillable red, that is equally delightful as it is complex. One of my personal favorites from the Italian section at the moment.

From one of Alto Adige’s most celebrated biodynamic estates, the 2023 Manincor “Il Conte” is a stunning and elegant alpine red. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Lagrein, this wine showcases incredible purity and freshness. The nose is bright and aromatic, with notes of redcurrant, blackberry, and violet, accented by hints of savory herbs and a distinct, stony minerality. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and graceful, with a core of pure, vibrant fruit framed by fine-grained, silky tannins and a fresh, mouthwatering acidity. The finish is long, clean, and persistent. A beautifully crafted and versatile red that captures the cool-climate finesse of the Dolomites.
