From one of Alto Adige’s benchmark biodynamic estates, the 2023 Manincor “Sophie” is a stunning and elegant expression of high-altitude Chardonnay. The nose is wonderfully complex and aromatic, with notes of crisp green apple, white peach, and lemon curd, layered with sophisticated hints of toasted almond, vanilla, and a distinct, flinty minerality. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and beautifully textured, with a creamy weight that is perfectly balanced by a vibrant, energetic acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, clean, and resonant, echoing with saline and stony nuances. A magnificent alpine Chardonnay with both immediate appeal and significant aging potential.
