2022 Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Gevrey-Chambertin
BH
Burghound
Review Date: 01/2025Note: from 35+ year old vines in Creux Brouillard and Les Marchais. This is also aromatically ripe with its more deeply pitched nose of red and dark currant, newly turned earth and a forest floor hints. The succulent, rich and generously proportioned flavors exhibit good if not truly special length on the sneaky long and again, slightly rustic finale. This could use better depth so a few years of keeping should help.

Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "About 10 different parcels assembled – from the plain and vines in the village too – the vv has more higher vines on the Brochon side of the village. A little more direct with darker accented but pure fruit and then a perfumed floral too. Direct but broadening with cool fruit, with a small veneer of almost grainless, faintly drying tannin. Large finishing – these are great finishes to start the day!"(01/2024)
