James Suckling
Reviewed February 2025Vibrant aromas of dark cherries, raspberry coulis, graphite and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, showing blueberry bush, red licorice and dried herbs. So linear and tightly wound, this has an underlying power that will evolve nicely in bottle. Excellent. Drink or hold.

Wine Advocate
The 2023 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard opens dramatically on the nose: wild berry fruit gives way to pennyroyal, forest floor, blood orange and potpourri, and it offers additional nuance with each return to the glass. The medium-bodied palate is just as compelling, featuring complex, spicy flavors structured by dusty tannins and vibrant acidity, and it has a long, flavorful finish. This expressive Savoy Pinot should be long lived in the cellar. (EB)

Peay crafts an excellent Pinot Noir from outside the West Sonoma Coast: the Savoy Vineyard in Anderson Valley. The 2023 bottling shows a lifted, herbal expression of Pinot that glows a vibrant purple in the glass, with aromatic layers of cracked black pepper, violets, dark plums, and wild berries. On the palate, plush, ripe fruit mingles with savoury brine and herbal spice, carried by bright freshness and polished tannins. An underdog in the Peay portfolio, for sure. (ACQ)

Vinous
The 2023 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is a classy, polished wine. It offers gorgeous fruit presence, silky tannins and fine balance. The Savoy Pinot is usually more exuberant. In 2023, all of its signatures are present, just dialed down a touch. It's a style I like quite a bit, as it aligns more closely with the rest of the Peay range. (AG)
