Buelan "Cap and Bells" Las Canciones No. 2 Oloroso Jerez (375 ml)
Review Date: 10/2025
What a festive little Oloroso—all dressed up and ready to impress, adorned with an eye-catching abstract art label and red wax capsule. A rich amber liquid spills into the glass. Salty, nutty, and caramelly—like sinking your teeth into a delicious mixed nut brittle. Great food-friendly acidity. The overall impression is dry and borders on a soy sauce-like umami. Our talented Southern Hemisphere buyer suggested pairing this with butternut squash risotto. Add some fried crispy sage and you'll have a truly heavenly pairing! Enjoy this during that blessed time of year known as Sweater Weather.

Notes
Buelan Compañia de Sacas is a project comprised of barrel-selected sherries created by Nick Africano, musician and founder of En Rama Sherry Co. Nick works with the wines of Ramiro Ibanez of Cota 45 and Willy Perez of Bodegas Luis Perez. After meeting Ramiro and Willy a few times in Spain, Nick immediately connected with their ethos. Nick’s idea was to bottle a sherry to be co-released alongside a new song of the same name. Las Canciones No. 2 “Cap and Bells” Oloroso is a bottling of Oloroso selected from the criaderas of Jaime González García Mier of Bodegas Faustino González. The wine is 100% Palomino Fino from a single vineyard planted in 1972, in a part of the Jerez Superior subregion, east of the city of Jerez. This Oloroso is a blend of the house Oloroso bottling (which averages over 20 years of age) with a younger criadera, intended to make a more youthful, approachable, and drinkable Oloroso.
